Heaven help me! I liked this movie, now I'm one of the few who did. As you can see from other reviews that many people do not like this movie, so why do it? 1. I came with low expectations - I was expecting something awful, boring, long and pointless, but myself, I liked it, I laughed at the joke, I connected with the players (yes, Rihanna also ;) I was excited by the action, and as cliche ? S plot kept my interest 2. The actors do well with what I have - Taylor Kitsch did a good job, Rihanna was not so bad, I dare say good in his role. She was there, she did not try to chew scenery, she did work as an actor / secondary character, and it does not bother me. Give your kudos3. Lost in Translation? - Trying to make a game into a movie, and want to put parts of them play in it? It's not easy, a little cheese? Of course, fun but? Yes, fun, entertaining, and ultimately, that's part of the story that is not as positive as it could be. So in conclusion, Battleship funny, corny, typical summer movie that I like, but as you can see that many people do not. I think it's a guilty pleasure, something to be enjoyed by a few, but annoyed others. In the end, I can only suggest this - go in with low expectations, I expected a little over the top patriotism, the Act of Valor (but not too heavy), and do not think about it. The film is not without flaws or questionable logic, but as they say, and in another movie - I suggest that you do not think about it and just enjoy the ride
