Review:
Solid is the key word. The screenplay, cinematography and acting, the film is based on a solid foundation. In fact, we couldnt imagine fewer people in the project. The first signs are really good starting origin story that draws Robins steps back from the Crusades and arriving in Nottingham. The plot is just as relevant and fresh in terms of known tale.The first problem we run into is that the film never allows late. This creates two problems: a sense of purpose is achieved through emergencies tend to be lost aimlessness, and the characters never have the space to generate real depth emotion.Imagine just that: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and William Hurt, collected together three Oscars, and nine additional nominations. But it is hard to lavish praise for their performances, they never failed to inspire empathy, as we might wish. The sense of urgency - of imminent physical harm to his person, the crucial importance of their research - never quite hit home.The script does not always help. It tries to give the story a strong moral basis to be associated with growth of democratic ideals in feudal Britain, unconvincingly: suspension of disbelief failed this reviewer.For both these reasons, the epic feeling of power that saturates Mr. Scotts similar things will never work in this. Indeed, within the climax of the battle, slow motion shots to fall flat, and emotion never reaches the expected large, despite competence in action movies scenes.This thing is strange echoes others as well. People are designed for comparisons with Gladiator; Do these particular relevance beyond Russell crows similar (though less fascinating) action. Instead, Robins travel from the Crusades through England, which thrive in fatal destiny and gained respect, copies Ridley Scotts own kingdom.
