Review:
I just saw this movie today, the day of its opening there. And we deeply, deeply moved.Ive got to start with the scenes of deserted New York City after an apocalypse. These were very, very moving, and very, very convincing. The clips in the trailer of the film was good, but you really have to see the full range of shots to close-up shots from a distance, so to appreciate the magnitude of what this film is portraying. Theres something on the beach and Resident Evil, and any number of disaster movies and zombie movies here. But none of them do justice to the New York represented here. This is New York City is a large-scale and micro-scale to show the environment in which the main character is acting.And Will Smith is simply brilliant as the sole survivor, Robert Neville. Do offer to move and convincing in a script that really focuses on us to give a picture of what it would be like ... be the last people on earth who live on the earth, in New York. This is the real strength of this film, there is really a lot of blood and segments or scenes of zombies at all. But I was stuck as Robert spends his days typical of New York. Every moment was full of pathos and full of threat, as well. And now and then we had a bit 'of relief from Smiths trademark humor that mixed perfectly with the rest of his performance to give us what would be a powerful transmission that only leaves me almost breathless.Theres effective use of flashbacks in part tells the story of how We got to where they were in that gloomy New York City, and the flashbacks also serve to give us a stunning contrast between life before and life after an apocalyptic disaster wiped out the village. However, the use of flashbacks was greedy, I found even more effective.Cinematography was excellent throughout, the plot and script are brilliant, the use of a dog, Samantha, as a key player was perfect to show for both of us as a partner Robert and Robert as lonely, isolated survivor.I wont give away the end, but I think it was good as far as it goes, but it is not so attractive, in my view, as the previous material. This leads to my complaint: the title. By the end of the film, we have some sense of the meaning of the title. But I still hear cheese and really unworthy of movie.But this is a minor complaint. If you have not seen this movie, and would enjoy seeing a very powerful story of a survivor in a post-apocalyptic New York, hey, go see this movie. Its really worth it.
