Review:
Of course this movie has a ton of hype and what the movie can live up to everything .... YADA YADA YADA. Even assuming that, this film is quite dissapointment. This film shows that it is not just special FX's fun to watch Star Wars. It is as if George Lucas was so excited by what he can do CGI effects, he forgot what made the original trilogy so great, the writing and characters. Not a bad film, but the problems many.I-Many people forgiven this film to be grim as they say is only the first trilogy and it just set everything else to follow. Wrong Wrong Wrong, this film needed to be its own film first and foremost three other films. Must have good characters and story are quite interesting .... it did not. The conflict in this story revolves around the trade dispute and the fate of this planet Naboo. Does anyone really care about it? The details of the issue rather vague and generate interest is revealed not real enough for us to eliminate a specific part. Significant conflict of Darth Sideous and he kept increasing away in the background. We dont know why so much hatred Jedis Darth Maul .... he just does. Maybe Lucas Darth Maul want to be so Boba Fett (silent and mysterious). It works with Boba Fett because he just be supportive, not primary villain. The film really does not have a clear villain. I wish someone has the courage and just tell Lucas that his basic story lousy. Sunday looks very happy in this film. Qui-gon is really the only character that can be associated with and also quite a lot. Act as a model in many scenes his Queen (and like it). Obi-Wan Kenobi to wander through the entire movie pointless and never say anything interesting. The characters never seem to talk about nothing but the plot (as in the first film). C3PO and R2-D2 are pretty useless. Jedi Council comes across as very cold and buracratic. And I can not understand why they wrote Annakin as a primary school child in this film. It is supposed to be a teenager. Scene with the queen is awkward. JAR even discuss other things Jar.Various ... Article midochlorians just seemed tacked on. Jokes fall flat unless you child is very small. Annakin destroyed at the end of trading vessels and safves everyone, basically by accident! ILM and George Lucas seems to be so happy with their new toys CGI spend 95% of their time perfecting them. Quite frankly I think the FX in Return of the Jedi is strong cartoons, more dimensional and less. Nothing all that memorable seem to happen here. The film could never be as good as the hype, but can easily be better. I waited so long for this film, but the first time I saw this movie, I actually get bored in the middle of it.There good moments. Pod racing is fun, like a light saber battle at the end. There are some very good special effects throughout. Hopefully Lucas just have writer's block when he wrote this one. Maybe he will remember what made other films to do well in time for Episode II. Although he seems to already botched the title.
